A guessing game with receipts.

How the daily five works

Human or AI Daily is a five-question observation game about the clues people notice in creative work. Each round mixes short human-written passages with text created for the game, then asks for one simple choice. The set is selected by a deterministic UTC rotation, so friends see the same five passages on the same date without signing in.

  1. 01Read one short passage without a label.
  2. 02Choose Human or AI and lock in your first impression.
  3. 03See the answer, explanation, and source before moving on.
  4. 04Share a five-tile result with no answer spoilers.

What the score can and cannot say

This is not a reliable AI detector. A high score does not prove that someone can identify the origin of unfamiliar content outside this labeled pool. Older punctuation, polished grammar, unusual metaphors, and small imperfections are not dependable proof of authorship. Generative systems can imitate many styles, and people write in many voices.

The difficulty comes from comparison, not stereotypes about people or machines. Treat each reveal as a prompt to notice your assumptions. Do not use a game result to judge students, employees, writers, artists, or disputed documents.

Sources in the open, progress kept local

Human passages come from reviewed historical-text excerpts and retain source-match evidence. After a choice, the reveal names the author and work. AI passages identify the generator and state that they were authored as original comparison material for this game. Provenance is part of the experience, not an invisible editorial note.

No account is required. The browser stores completed rounds, consecutive play days, and overall accuracy locally on this device. Sharing produces only the date, score, and green or red tiles. It does not include the passages, labels, explanations, or source order.
